Family leave
Family leave is a form of unpaid leave that allows you to care for a seriously ill family or household member. This leave is legally regulated and protects your social rights during absence.

For whom can you request family leave?
– Your child or foster child
– Your partner or spouse
– Your parent or in-law
– Another dependent family member living with you -
Conditions
– The leave is unpaid.
– You may take up to 10 working days per calendar year.
– A medical certificate must confirm the seriousness of the illness.
– The employer must approve the leave. -
What about your rights?
– You receive no salary during family leave, but keep your social security rights.
– You do not accrue vacation or seniority during this time.
– The leave does not count toward future guaranteed salary during illness.
How to apply?
- Submit a written request to HR stating:
– Who you are caring for
– The reason for the care
– The requested period (start and end date) - Provide a medical certificate from the attending doctor.
- Wait for formal approval from HR.
